नमामि भगवत्पादम शंकरं लोक शंकरम्॥
namāmi bhagavatpādama śaṅkaraṃ loka śaṅkaram.

Swami Paramahamsananda Saraswati was born in Trichy in 1974. From a young age, he displayed a deep interest in spirituality. However, unable to find a suitable guide, he embarked on a journey to Rishikesh, the foothills of the Himalayas, in search of a Guru. By divine grace, he encountered his Acharya, Paramapujya Sri Swami Shantidharmananda Saraswati. Under his guidance, Swamiji served his Guru and immersed himself in the study of yoga. He subsequently delved into the Shastras, receiving formal instruction in Prasthana Traya Bhashya from his Acharya. He also diligently studied scriptures like the Srimad Bhagavatam and Yoga Darshanas.
Early in his spiritual journey, Swamiji was deeply inspired by his Acharya's own Guru, Param Pujya Sri Swami Ramananda Saraswatiji. While he considered Sri Ramananda Saraswatiji his Guru, his Acharya advised him to wait for the appropriate time to embrace Sannyasa. Upon completing his studies of the Prasthana Traya, our Swamiji undertook a rigorous period of visiting Punya Kshetras as a form of austerity. He embarked on a foot pilgrimage to numerous sacred sites across South India and later undertook the Narmada Parikrama, circumambulating the Narmada River. During this pilgrimage, he had the profound darshan of Pujya Sri Ramananda Swamiji, who formally accepted him as his disciple. Following Swamiji's blessings and his Acharya's approval, our Swamiji completed the Narmada Parikrama and received Sannyasa initiation from his Gurudev on Mahashivaratri in 2007. He was bestowed with the Yogpatta name Swami Paramahamsananda Saraswati and received Pranava initiation.
At the request of his Gurudev, Swamiji settled in Tiruvannamalai to fulfill the role of a teacher. He dedicated himself to imparting knowledge, conducting two complete cycles of Prasthana Traya and Sankara Bhashya teachings to his disciples. Currently, he resides in Tiruvannamalai, devoting his time to meditation, sadhana, and translating the sacred texts he has studied into Tamil.
In 2021, Swamiji established Aksharam Publication in Tiruvannamalai with the noble aim of making Vedanta accessible to Tamil readers. This publishing house focuses on translating and publishing the Prasthana Traya texts - the ten principal Upanishads (from Ishavasya to Brihadaranyaka Upanishads), the Brahma Sutras, and the Bhagavad Gita. Aksharam Publication adheres to the traditional interpretations of these texts, striving to guide Tamil society towards the eternal state of Moksha as outlined in the Vedic path.

(श्वेताश्वतरोपनिषत् 6 - 23)
Those Mahatmas who have great Bhakti towards Isvara and have similar Bhakti towards their Guru as well, understand the meanings preached in the Upanishads properly.
In the Brihadaranyaka Upanishad Bhasya as well, Sri Sankara states that this Atma Vidya can only be taught to the following individuals:
-
One who is a good Sishya
-
An obedient Son
-
One who is very dear
-
When there is an exchange of Vidya for Vidya
-
To one who has gained the Guru’s gratitude
-
To one who gives Dakshina; this is the absolute last category and is never the intention of any Guru.
